Dear Ms. Weathersby,
Happy Birthday! It was great seeing you at Dixie's wedding. Irene and I reminisced a lot about our childhood that weekend. As kids, we were too young to see how special it was all the things you did for us. As adults, we see you dedication your life to us! You helped mold us into the women we are today. Thank you for all those life-lessons we learned on the softball field. You are truly a special lady! Thank you for being part of my life.
Happy Birthday!!
Love,
Christine Diaz

Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Sherry. After reading all these wonderful tributes, what more can I say except that I have really enjoyed getting to know you and look forward to many more SP get-togethers and retreats. You are always so thoughtful to bring goodies and entertain us with things like the Santa suit! So enjoy your day!

Welcome To the 60's Sherry!
Sherry, I was so blessed to have shared a table with you at my very first Red Barn Scattered Piecers' retreat. The finger pin cushion from you and Holly remains a cherished memento. I thought then that you were a very kind, considerate, generous............. gee, I could go on and on (don't want to make you blush) and you have proven me right time and again. I wish you the HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY ever!
Happy Woooofday Mommy
Hi Moooooom ... does that sound familiar? Like something your OTHER three children used to say. At least we've gotten rid of them and now we have you all to ourselves. We wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday and we have all talked this afternoon while you were at work that we would be extra good today bc it is your very special day. Hannah promises to go to her kennel when you tell her to at night. Butch promises to be nice to Hannah and to not cry all night bc he can't sleep. Amy promises to make sure the other two do what they promised. And pls Mommy, pls Mommy, pls Mommy can we all pile up in your lap tonight!?? Well, that would be like every night but we would realllly like to do that tonight.
You know we love you as much as your other three kids do bc you take as good of care of us as you did them. I"m sure we'll grow up to be as outstanding individuals as they are ;-)
Woooof, woof,
Amy, Hannah and Butch
Happy 60th From Your GrandDog
Hi Grammy (I hear that's what we call you).
Happy Happy Birthday. You are the best Grammy in the world bc you give me good Christmas presents like chew ropes and tasty bones. Don't worry. I'm taking good care of Dixie -- or at least I'm making sure Glenn takes good care of Dixie. We can't wait for you to come back to Nashville to visit -- we miss you and love you a ton. Tell my aunts Amy and Hannah and uncle Butch to make sure to not bark too loud so you can sleep good on your birthday night. Woof woof.
All my love,
Bud
Happy Birthday, Ms. Weathersby

Happy 60th Sherry!
Sherry - it is such a treat to wish you a happy 60th birthday. You know how much my family, Paige and I love Dixie - clearly she comes from good stock! You've been just like a mom to me in the decade that I've known you, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that, as it seems some years I saw you more often than my own Mom! I'll never be able to thank you enough for being family to Shannon and Josh at Christmas last year, which was such a blessing for us all. You have always been the example of the slogan "Don't Mess With Texas" to me and I endeavor to hit 60 with your adventurous and compassionate spirit. I will raise a glass (or four) in your honor and I will be eternally grateful for little gems like the photo above!!!
Much love, Katie (and Paige)
Happy Birthday Sherry!!!
Wishing you the best birthday from one of the newer Scattered Piecers. I look forward to years of getting to know you better. From the posts on the blog I can see you are well loved and have so far had a well loved life right back.
Here too many more!

Happy Birthday Mom!
Hi Mom!
You wouldn't let us have a party, so we decided to celebrate YOU anyway, right here online. I do hope you realize how much you are loved, cherished and admired. You are so important to so many people. You have touched so many lives and changed them all for the better.
Lately, I have been comparing my life now, to yours when we were growing up. I will tell you, I can't keep up! You were everywhere all the time. The 3 of us were never without you--you were at every event, even if they were on the same day in different towns. Usually you led it, like you did our Girl Scouts, or you coached it, like you did our softball teams, or you were a ref during our volleyball games. We always had notes too, well, I say notes, they were long notes that usually made me cry that wished us good luck, told us how much you loved us and how proud you were.
One thing that amazed me, while you were at all our activities, you made sure other kids got to where they needed to be. The year Kari won hurdles and had a track meet in California, you made sure she got there by taking her. The year Terri Sue needed to get to New Orleans or somewhere that direction, you loaded up and took her. You even took Libby and one of her friends to Fan Fair. I also know that you have mentored many--they talked to you, when they couldn't talk to their own families.
And on top of all that, you worked, taught us right from wrong, gave us responsibility and made sure we had a work ethic ( I have since discovered, this is a way to not have to fold all those socks yourself)-- and tried to keep us from killing each other. You even convinced Shane finally that there WAS a #7 between the numbers 6 and 8.
Dixie, Shane and I are lucky - You are our best friend Mom and you always have been. One thing I never understood-- kids not wanting their Mom around. Luckily, I never had to look for mine, she was right there-watching me grow up and enjoying it all with me- and I know Dixie and Shane feel the same.
The traditions- you made so many for us and love them just as much as we do. I remember many holidays, but I want to mention my first Easter in college. I couldn't come home, so you, MawMaw, Dixie and Shane came to me. You even hid Easter eggs in the hotel room. All the Easters after that, you still came up and convinced Shane to come with you. Alot of times you just came for the day, which was a long drive both ways.
I don't think some of the Scattered Piecers believed me at first, but although you have the furthest to travel, I told them, you usually are the first one there. I know this, because you showed up at the door of my dorm room one Saturday morning at 8am. You had a 5 hour drive and made my day. And then you proved me right the first time you went to Judy's. You were in Lockhart waiting for what you thought was an "appropriate" time to go on in to her home.
Mom, you have provided so many memories that I can't organize them all here. They just keep popping in my head.

I can say thank you for being our Mom and our friend and being a part of every memory I have of growing up.
You are the glue of the family Mom and we thank you for that. I thank you for the example you have set on being a mother, wife, grandmother and friend. I thank you for providing my children with the stability of an extended family that they know is there for them, cheering them on and loving them and never leaving them. The kids have asked on more than one occassion, how does Grammy remember all that, do all that. I just tell them "Grammy remember's everything and can do anything" (How do I know this, because we got Cabbage Patch dolls, when no one could find them)
Mom, have a wonderful birthday. We all wish we were there with you! Please know we love you so very much and don't forget - You promised me we could throw you a party when you turn 80---and you have to be there!!
I love you!
Holly
PS I want to thank the Scattered Piecers for giving me the opportunity to bring my Mom into one more area of my life. She quilted with me after I took my first quilting class at Polly's. I then moved to Arizona and quilted some out there, but not alot. When I moved back to Texas, I didn't really pick it back up, but Mom hadn't done much either. When we moved her one time, she gave me all her quilting fabric and said, "I just don't have time." I ended up moving back to Bryan and found Polly and started sewing again. I was introduced to this group and had told Mom about it. Then Granbury came up and I asked "Can my Mom come?" You said yes. I knew she needed you, but I also knew you all needed her. Now at the time, I didn't know you would get the Santa suit--but I did know you would get the bestest friend, alot of laughs, hugs, a great smile and I would continue to have my Mom involved in the things I do. Thank you all!

Have a Great Milestone Birthday!!!!
Sherry,
I hope this milestone birthday is great!! Thank you for your thoughtfulness, remembering I love Ray Charles' Country Western music and next thing I know, here comes a package in the mail with tons of Ray Charles music! Thank you for caring...loved the bird you gave Bonnie, and mentioned my Red Bird Collection, next Scattered Piecers get together and there's a great, musical Cardinal on my sewing machine! You are special!
Hugs X 60!

Hey Sherry!!!! Happy happy day!! Can you believe this new technology?? lol Nothing like knowing how many people love you and are thinking of you on this special day!
When I think of you, Sherry, I think of all you do for our Scattered Piecers! The little "mascots" on our computers, all the pink flamingo hats, the CDs you supply, and especially your special appearance as Santa! You have brought so many smiles to so many faces, and I love you for that!
I hope this day becomes one of your fondest memories, and my birthday wish for you is that you have everything you need, most of what you want, and the health and money to enjoy it!!
I love you, girl!

Happy Happy Birthday Mom!
Mom ... wow, it just seems like yesterday that we were sitting at King's Inn for your 40th Birthday! ;-). Well, where to even start trying to wish you a Happy Birthday. First of all, I can't tell you how special you are to me - not only, hands down, THE best Mom in the world, but you are and have always been one of my best friends. Growing up, I don't think any of us (Holly, Shane or I) realized just what kind of jewel we had as a Mom, but looking back and telling stories to friends of mine that might not have known you then even I'm amazed ... you worked all day but still found time to coach our softball teams (BOTH of them -- as Holly and I grew in to different leagues) because you wanted to make us both feel special; you were our Girl Scout leader (and again, you were a leader to both of us - Brownies and Girl Scouts); at Girl Scout camp we were the envied ones bc you sent us each a letter and/or goodie bag every single day we were there; you coached us in summer track; you filled in for Ms. Curlee (our coach) when she couldn't be there at a volleyball game, track meet or tennis tournament. And some nights you would drive to two different towns to make sure you were at both mine and Holly's games. I can't think of one school function/sporting event, etc that you weren't sitting right there cheering us on. It looks as though we might have been spoiled rotten but you instilled in all of us a great sense of responsibility and work ethic -- oh how we loved waking up during the summers after you left for work and the first thing we had to do was go to the refrigerator to find each of our lists of chores for the day outlined out -- and we had to do it all before we could go play (oh how I hated the days I had "fold the whites"). You cheered and supported us through college and still seemed to make us feel like we were still "home" -- letters, cards almost every week. You came to every Parent's Weekend. Then you were the one to really support me in my move to Nashville -- saying, "if anything, just give it one year and if it doesn't work out you can always move back home and try something else." Well, it's worked out ok I think --it's been 12 years and I eventually met my husband here. All the while I've been here I have never not once really felt like I was as far away as I am bc you still send me those first thing in the morning emails "I love you. Have a good day" ... those just really make me smile and feel a little closer to all of you back in Texas. As we planned my wedding, again, I was worried we wouldn't get the chance to do it together .. but wow .... it was SO special bc you made sure to be here for my showers and to come shop for my dress with me (which I think we hit a homerun with) and just all the little things you did to help me stay on track and make sure I thought of everything. I wish I could have just bottled that whole time up bc it was so special to do it all with you. And you looked absolutely beautiful that day - and you made me so proud to be your daughter. Glenn just loves you to pieces too - and he feels pretty lucky to have such a great Mother-in-law ...like he said that night at our wedding reception -- he has the best mother-in-law in the world.
I could literally go on and on and on but overall I just think you are the most amazing person and I only hope you can know what you bring to everyone's life. You are the most caring and THE most generous and unselfish person I know on this earth.
I just hate you had to replace me, Holly and Shane with Hannah, Butch and Amy ... after meeting the dogs, Glenn thinks they actually all resemble the personalities of each of us in the birth order too ... and I started thinking about it .. and they actually kind of do. Maybe proving the whole you are influenced by your surroundings and not born in to who you become.
Mom, I love you and I want you to enjoy your 60th birthday .. and the whole decade but you've got 60 more to go! I realllly hate we had to miss spending the weekend in San Antonio for your birthday -- you should have been born in the winter instead of the Hurricane season.

Happy Birthday Dear Friend
Hope you enjoy all your post on your birthday card. I am very lucky to have you as a friend and a big thank you to Holly for bringing you into our quilting family. And you should feel a bit special as out of all of my friends, Kenneth remembered your name before all others. Ya think it was because you ride a Harley???
It has been so much fun to have you as part of my life. You were right there when I said "Let's go on a cruise" and up early every morning to see the beautiful sunrises. You leave a "voice mail" on my cell from a Jimmy Buffett concert in Vegas and then it's "let me know when you go again". Come October we are off to Vegas again for fun and games and Jimmy, 2nd trip. When ever I'm on the road I have a very good supply of CD's of my favorite country music singers because of you. And I'm never without a good supply of Hot Tamales....LOL
But above all of the material things we have shared it's the friendship that has grown over the last few years. If I need to run away, get a hug or just VENT you are there. Thank you!!
Have a great birthday!!
